Description
Additional Information

The chemical oil remover is specifically designed to treat oily and scale-containing wastewater (turbid circulating water) discharged from continuous casting and rolling mills in metallurgical enterprises. A range of chemical oil removal equipment has been developed, with capacities from 100 m³/h to 1600 m³/h.
1. Chemical oil removal involves dosing chemical agents. After mixing and reaction, oil, scale, and other suspended solids in the water are separated through coagulation and flocculation, achieving water purification. When the influent contains 35–45 mg/L of oil and approximately 200 mg/L of SS, the effluent contains less than 10 mg/L of oil and less than 10 mg/L of SS.
2. Two types of agents are dosed separately. The first type is an electrolyte, such as aluminum sulfate, composite polyaluminum chloride, basic aluminum chloride, polymeric ferric sulfate, or ferric chloride, which is added to the first mixing chamber. The second type is an oil flocculant, a specially formulated polymer oil flocculant, added to the second mixing chamber. The two agents must be dosed separately and in the correct order. The dosage for both is 15 mg/L, with a recommended concentration of 2–3%. Both agents are non-toxic and harmless.
3. After dosing and mixing in the first and second mixing chambers, the wastewater enters the rear reaction chamber and the inclined tube sedimentation chamber. The oil (floating oil and emulsified oil) and suspended solids form large flocs through coagulation and flocculation, settling into the sludge discharge at the bottom. The clarified water flows out through the overflow weir and outlet pipe. The sludge at the bottom can be discharged periodically every eight hours, each time for 3–5 minutes. The discharged sludge can be sent to the cyclone pit (or primary scale sedimentation tank) slag pit and transported out along with coarse-scale particles, or separately concentrated and treated before disposal.
4. To facilitate sludge discharge from the chemical oil remover, the influent should preferably be treated by a cyclone pit (or primary scale sedimentation tank). The recommended wastewater treatment process using the chemical oil remover is as follows: workshop effluent → cyclone pit → pump → chemical oil remover → pump → cooling tower → pump → return to workshop

Note: The treatment capacities in the table are calibrated for oily wastewater from rolling mills. When used for treating oily wastewater from continuous casting workshops, the calibrated treatment capacity should be multiplied by 0.8.
5. The column base of the chemical oil remover can be fixed to the foundation with bolts, or by embedding steel plates in the foundation surface and spot-welding after leveling.
6. The chemical oil remover should preferably be installed above ground for easy management and sludge discharge. In northern regions, it should be placed indoors to prevent freezing.
7. The chemical oil remover is equipped with one electrical control box to operate the agitator, dosing device, and electric butterfly valve. Alternatively, users may provide their own electrical control equipment.
